If you are an artist and you dig movies, you are going to end up with multiple Marilyns in your repertoire. This is more focused on line work. I wanted to depict her in a way I haven’t seen. Something melancholy but not judgmental.
I used a combination of brushes to get a washed out, water heavy look without resulting to watercolor. I am very happy with the lips and eyes. I’m not sure what, but the likeness isn’t quite there. The image hits what I intended. Maybe a melancholy Marilyn is not fitting her at all?
